Tanghetto: El Miedo A La Libertad
The tango electronics from Buenos Aires are back with a new CD containing 12 titles. Their previous productions “Emigrante” and “Hybrid Tango” (both were nominated for the Latin Grammy) made them one of the most popular Electrotango bands. The new album “El Miedo a la Libertad” presents titles like “Media Persona”, a fusion between tango and bossa nova, and cover versions of “Englishman in New York” (Sting), where tango, jazz and reggae melt, “Sweet Dreams (are made of this)” (Eurhythmics) and “Cantaloupe Island” (written by Herbie Hancock and recorded for the first time in 1964).

Bajofondo: Mar Dulce
This is the new release by Bajofondo, which has been eagerly awaited by all friends of Electrotango. Tango meets Candombe, Milonga, Electro and Hip-Hop, and an exciting composition of rhythms and sounds emerges, which turns out to be harmonious. The list of artists involved in the project is also fascinating: Ryota Komatsu, Elvis Costello, Mala Rodríguez, Nelly Furtado and Lágrima Ríos, together with the Argentinian and Uruguayan musicians of Bajofondo, enchant the audience of “Mar Dulce”.

Otros Aires: Dos
Finally, the new CD by Otros Aires has arrived! “Dos” is an electronic feeling of the neighbourhood, the milongas, of the dance and the beat, and of the classical tangos. Once again Otros Aires shares their uniquely ‘porteño’ vision of 21st century sonic art.”
Otros Aires is one of the best Electrotango bands and it belongs to the same category as Carlos Libedinsky and Gotan Project. This is a perfect combination of delight in experimentation and danceability.
Highly recommendable!
